Contest Rules for Canada Computers & Electronics (the “Sponsor”) Showcase your Super Lair (the “Contest”)
August 12 – August 25, 2019
These are the official rules that govern the Showcase your Super Lair contest. By entering the contest, the Participant (the “Participant”) agrees to be bound by the following Contest Rules and any decision made by the Sponsor in relation to the Contest, which shall be final and binding on all Participants. Super Lair Contest (the "Contest") is sponsored by Canada Computers and Electronics (the “Sponsor”), on behalf of itself and its subsidiaries.
1. Eligibility
The contest is open to legal residents of Canada who meet the following criteria:
· who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry;
· have internet access;
· have a valid email account prior to the beginning of the contest;
· are a Canadian resident
Exclusions
The following criteria outlines individuals who are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
· Residents of the province of Quebec
· Employees of Sponsor, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates and
Agents
· Employees of Canada Computers, Intel, and their immediate family (spouse, parents and step-parents, siblings and step-siblings, and children and step-children) and household members (people who share the same residence for at least three (3) months out of the year) of each such employee are not eligible. The Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of each entrant.
2. How to Enter
To submit an entry into the contest:
i)

ii) Enter your contact information
iii) List the CPU used in your PC and any other specs you’d like to include.
iv) Upload a minimum of (3) pictures of your PC setup:
MUST INCLUDE an image of you WITH your PC setup to eliminate fraud
v) OPTIONAL: Upload an image of your receipt showing the purchase of any INTEL CPU (Core CPU – 8 & 9th Generation Only)
vi) Read and accept the terms and conditions
The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Contest Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Any individual found that has violated the terms and conditions and who is caught cheating will be immediately disqualified and banned from entering future Canada Computers Contests/Giveaways.
4. Prizes
Prizes are not transferable. No cash or other substitutes for prizes are available, except by Sponsor, who reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute different prizes of equal or greater value should the prize(s) be unavailable for any reason (including without limitation export restrictions and product availability). The odds of winning a prize are dependent on the number of eligible contest Entrants participating in the contest.

Prize Pick-Up Information: The selected winner must present valid identification and may also need to present purchase receipt processed during the Contest period. Prize pick-up available in-stores until October 31st, 2019.
5a. Winner Selection
All eligible entries received during the Contest Period will be gathered into a database at the end of the Contest Period.
VOTING SYSTEM
The winner of the $1500 CC Gift Card will be determined via electronic voting system. All eligible entries will be displayed on an online voting page and distributed by Canada Computers & Electronics Head Office. All Canada Computers & Electronics head office employees will receive 1 vote. Voting will be based on visual elements only. Only images submitted by participants of their PC setup will be used on the voting page. Images that include the participants identity will not displayed. Names of participants, PC specifications, and brand names of products and/or components will not be displayed. The voting period will be from Monday August 26 12:00:00 p.m est to Tuesday August 27 12:00:00 p.m est.
An additional 50 votes will be added to each entry that meets the criteria outlined in Section 5b.
The entry with the most votes accumulated will determine the winner of the $1500.00 Canada Computers Gift Card.
5b. ADDITIONAL 50 VOTES TO WIN $1500 CC GIFT CARD
The winner of the Contest is based on an electronic voting system by the Sponsor as outlined in section 5a.
To receive an additional 50 votes, the participant must meet the following criteria: i) Provide a valid receipt of purchase from Canada Computers of any INTEL CPU (Core CPU - 8 & 9th Generation Only) ii) The Intel Core CPU - 8 & 9th Generation only must be purchased within the time period of (Aug 1, 2019 to August 25, 2019) Validity will be confirmed through receipt date and item # by the Sponsor. The Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of each entrant.
6. Winner Confirmation, Prize Notification and Delivery.
The selected entrant will be notified and announced and on August 28, 2019 at 3:00:00 p.m est. The name of the winner will be posted on our social media channel(s) and on the contest page on www.canadacomputers.com The selected entrant will be required to correctly answer a skill testing question and to sign and return the Sponsor’s Release to the Sponsor, in order to claim his/her prize. The announcement and instructions for prize pick-up will be sent to directly to each winner. Each entrant is responsible for monitoring his/her e-mail for prize notification or other communications related to this contest. If a potential prize winner cannot be reached by the Sponsor within fifteen (15) days, using the contact information provided at the time of entry, or if the prize is returned as deliverable, that potential prize winner shall forfeit the prize.
7. Publicity & Waiver
Except where prohibited by law, participation in the Contest constitutes each winner’s consent to the use of his or her name, address (City and Province), photograph, image, resemblance and/or voice in a variety of media, including, without limitation, video and voice display in social media channels, for publicity purposes of the Sponsor, the Administrator and the prize suppliers, without compensation or payment.
By participating in this Contest, entrant acknowledges, represents and warrants that:
(i) the Entry does not contain any material that is libelous, defamatory, profane or obscene and does not violate any laws relating to hate speech or otherwise;
(ii) the Entry is an original work, solely created by the entrant, and that no third party participated as an author, co-author, photographer or otherwise in the creation of the Entry or any part thereof and that all right, title, and interest (including copyright) therein and thereto and is owned and/or controlled by the entrant to the full extent necessary to enable the Sponsor to use the Entry as contemplated by these Contest Rules;
(iii) the Entry does not infringe upon the intellectual property or other statutory or common law rights of any third party; and
(iv) if applicable, any minor shown in the Entry and the submission of the Entry is made with the consent of a parent and/or legal guardian of such minor.
By submitting the Entry, the entrant assigns to the Sponsor all of entrant’s right, title and interest, including copyright, in and to the Entry, throughout the world in perpetuity. For greater certainty, the entrant acknowledges that, as a result of this assignment, the Sponsor will have the exclusive and perpetual right to exploit the Entry in any media now known or later developed in whatever ways the Sponsor may determine in its sole discretion and to authorize others to do so. This includes, but is not limited to, the right to reproduce, distribute, publish, exploit, display, communicate to the public by telecommunication, transmit, broadcast and otherwise use and exploit the Entry, in whole or in part and to edit, add to, or modify the Entry in any way, all without further obligation or compensation of any kind to the entrant. By submitting the Entry, the entrant waives all of its so-called “moral rights” that it may enjoy in any territory throughout the world in relation to the Entry. Upon request by the Sponsor, the entrant agrees that it shall sign (or cause to be signed) all further documents or do (or cause to be done) all further acts and provide all reasonable assurances as may reasonably be necessary or desirable to give effect to the assignment of the entrant’s rights in the Entry.
8. Privacy
Participation in the Contest involves the collection and transfer of Entrant\s personal data, including Entrant's first name, last name, physical address, email address, and/ or telephone number as provided by Entrant on the entry form for purposes of administration of the Contest and such personal data will be stored on Sponsor's system. Thus, Entrant\'s participation in this Contest constitutes Entrant's consent to the use of such personal data.
9. Entry Conditions and Release
Each of the selected entrants for the contest is subject to verification by the Sponsor whose decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. By entering, each Entrant agrees to: (a) comply with and be bound by the Contest Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor which are binding and final in all matters relating to this Contest; (b) release and hold harmless the Sponsor, the prize suppliers and any other organizations responsible for sponsoring, fulfilling, administering, advertising or promoting the Contest, and all of their respective past and present officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, expenses, and liability, including but not limited to negligence and damages of any kind to persons and property, including but not limited to invasion of privacy (under appropriation, intrusion, public disclosure of private facts, false light in the public eye or other legal theory), defamation, slander, libel, violation of right of publicity, infringement of trademark, copyright or other intellectual property rights, property damage, or death or personal injury arising out of or relating to a Entrant's entry, creation of an entry or submission of an entry, participation in the Contest, acceptance or use or misuse of the prize (including any travel or activity related thereto) and/or the broadcast, exploitation or use of entry; and (c) indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Sponsor from and against any and all claims, expenses, and liabilities (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to an entrant’s participation in the Contest and/or entrant’s acceptance, use or misuse of the prize. This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram.
10. General Conditions
All entries become the property of Sponsor, and none will be returned. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Promotion if fraud, technical failures, sabotage, security breach, or any other factor beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Contest as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, the Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or any other Contest or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to alter any contest rules at any time.
