The ASUS DRW-24B1ST is capable of reading and writing data on DVD±R/±RW, DVDRAM formats.
It is a power saving drive and allows you to permanently delete the data on rewritable discs.
This provides you with flexibility and efficiency in terms of multimedia data storage and sharing

OTS (Optimal Tuning Strategy)
With OTS, the drive will perform a test before really burning which generate the optimal burning strategy automatically for the best burning quality.
E-Hammer
E-Hammer allows you to permanently delete the data on writable disc (CD-R and DVD-R) formats.
Once the data is deleted, it cannot be recovered or restored, and the optical drive will not be able to read the disc.
This ensures data security, eliminates the hassle of scratching your old discs, and conforms with our commitment to environmental protection.
AVRS (Auto Vibration Reducing System)
The AVRS technology is designed to minimize the vibration caused by the spindle motor and resonance between components as well as the drive and PC cases.

Came with no cords

- Cheap

- No cables at all, so you can't use this unless you buy (or already own) the proper cables

- I probably could've looked more into this before buying it, but it comes with absolutely no cables. Thankfully I was able to use the cables from my old PC for this and I didn't have any kind of delay from building.

Every other part I've gotten - CPU and motherboard specifically, but fans as well - all came with the appropriate cables and/or screws needed to properly install and use the part. It was just highly disappointing not getting anything with this part.

Otherwise, it works the way it should!

Great drive

As others have posted drive is silent when burning. As silent as can be when drive is reading.

Not really a weakness because it could be the discs I use but takes longer then my LG burner to recognize discs. Then again this is mesured in seconds so not a big deal.

As a bonus that I'm not sure if its always included was nero 10 oem. Its not full version but you do get the essentials which in reality is what most people use anyhow.

soooooooooo quiet couldn't hear it same as other reviewer weather it's reading or writing cd or dvd or dvd dl so glad I picked it up. very good drive. great price preformance ratio.

only weakness it doesn't have lightscribe but I can deal with that.
