No-brainer upgrade from my 2700X. End-game for an AM4 gaming rig, substantial FPS jump in lots of titles that are CPU-heavy. Runs with the same or less power than the 2700X while being much faster, and also undervolts well.

This is one of the best CPU's and has great value for the money. I run it with a 4090 and using DDR4 runs the GPU with no issues. Honestly, this is such an underrated CPU, but it's hard to tell the difference versus a 13900ks, and I have that too, so I compared and contrasted.

Went from a r5 3600x purchased back in 2019/2020 to the 5800X3D. Upgraded motherboard to a Asus Prime B550M-A WiFi II, and replaced the stock AMD cooler that came with my R5 3600x with a DeepCool AK620. Also ended up replacing my 32GB 3200MHz sticks with 3600MHz sticks since I wasn't able to overclock my previous set.

Highly recommend getting a new cooler with this CPU. It WILL blow your socks off, and this is definitely the end-game for the AM4 socket.

Good improvement in performance for gaming with a small upgrade of swapping out my 3700x for the 5800x3d.

Downside is that it runs hot, so make sure you have a good CPU cooler.

If you want to give your AM4 platform the swan song it deserves, this is the CPU! Without getting to "geeky" with specifications and explanations, this is THE best you can get to squeeze a few more years out of the hardware you already have. The only drawback I can give is that it DOES NOT come with a stock cooler. These CPU's are efficient enough, but do run a bit hot. But, most people that are using this CPU already have competent cooling solutions.

Replaced a R5 3600 on my Asus b350 Prime Plus board. Using the latest bios it dropped in and has been running without issues. Game performance increased quite a bit over the 3600. Very happy to get one last upgrade on my old platform. Should last me a couple of years.

The 5800x3D is an excellent processor for gaming. I see a noticeable difference in low 1%, having upgraded from the 5600x. It does run hot though, so having beefier cooling is a must. I’m running it in a 10L ITX case, and I barely managed to tame this thing. Overall I am happy with my purchase.
