Device works but not as designed

Will convert HDMI to VGA as specified.

Advertised as an active adapter with a separate power supply via USB. Device by default uses HDMI for power causing connectivity problems. Does not matter if USB power cable is used or not. This causes a Video signal error where resetting the device is the only way to fix it. Said error occurs every 15 minutes.

I'm always having to reset the device to fix the video signal error that occurs.
